The Huish Episcopi Community Speed Watch team have been operating throughout Huish Episcopi village since February 2019.
We have seen a reduction of speeding motorists from 3.5% to 1.4% when we are conducting watches during that time, which we feel is a significant and worthwhile result.
Motorists who speed through residential neighbourhoods are very often unaware of the impact their actions have on local residents, or the danger they pose to other road users, pedestrians, and children.This is something we are determined to address.
We want motorists to know that Huish Episcopi is an area where Community Speed Watch operates and speeding through our village is something we are determined to reduce.
We are currently averaging 2; one hour watches, per week and would like to increase that significantly. It isn’t a huge commitment and the more of us the better.
