Pibsbury Allotments

As with many areas after the war, the Huish Episcopi Allotments were established at Pibsbury in the 1950s and currently comprise 36, some of these being sub-divided to provide plots of maybe a more manageable size, with water available from the rhyne. They are only available to parishioners living in the Huish Episcopi, Langport and Muchelney parishes.

These allotments have become very popular in recent years, as the interest in organic, home grown fruit, vegetables and flowers has increased substantially.  The tenants include a number of very experienced gardeners, who are always prepared to offer advice to novices.  The present annual tenancy rate is £36 for a full sized plot, more details being available from the Parish Clerk and the Allotment Rules can be seen below.
